In answer to my father, of course my mother's success in writing, and her encouragement, got me started, and I've never forgotten that. However, something else drew me away from adult science fiction and fantasy and kept me in the young adult realm. I read Asimov, but I found him a little dry. Doctor Who has been a lot more fun.
Tonight, Erin, my mother-in-law, and I will be in Toronto. Erin will be giving a reading at Nicholas Hoare Books at 45 Front Street East, just east of Yonge Street. She'll be reading alongside Jeanette Lynes, who is an excellent poet and reader, so it's going to be a wonderful time. The reading is scheduled to start at 6:30 pm, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of you folks there.
