Sat, May

We had the kids up past their bedtime tonight, but it was worth it. Some days, you just got to go down to your local Mount Trashmore, fly a kite, climb a tree, and watch the supermoon rise.

Even though the moon’s increased apparent size (due to proximity) was akin to comparing a 16-inch pizza to a 15-inch pizza (as noted by astronomer Neil DeGrasse “Killjoy” Tyson), the kids were impressed as we saw the moon actually rise, and I think they really enjoyed the evening.
