Drawing Breath

I haven’t had a chance to post my review of the latest Doctor Who episode, entitled A Town Called Mercy. I’m still mulling it over, and I can’t seem to find the time or the energy to mull this over in front of my blog entry screen.

Things have been very busy these past few weeks. Not only have I finished up work for my real estate broker client in Burlington, I’ve sent off manuscripts for four non-fiction-for-schools assignments. To illustrate how sudden a rush of work this has been, consider that there was no such writing work for me for the first seven months of the year (save for my real estate work). Over the past three years, I have managed to produce eleven non-fiction titles. By the end of the year, if all goes well, I’ll have an additional eight to my name.

And the revisions to Icarus Down are going well. I’m just putting the finishing touches to the draft that my agent Emily had me take apart and rearrange. Another revision awaits, although this one probably won’t move so many scenes around.

But I am happy about this — or, I will be once the laundry is done and I get some sleep. This is, after all, what I signed up for. I’m doing what I love, and so I love what I’m doing.

And now it’s time to make the kids’ lunches, and sleep.
