I finished my fourth Harry Potter fan fiction. These short stories are proving to be nice diversions that keep my fingers and my writing thoughts limber while the Rosemary and Time series plods along. You can find my latest offerings (typos and all) at Fan Fiction.net, and the latest story, Future Shock should be available soon at GryffindorTower.Net.
I have to admit, I like the character of Wesley and I’m enjoying inserting him into the Harry Potter fan fiction world. I was worried that people would see him as a “Gary Stu” (the male equivalent of “Mary Sue”, and if you don’t know what that means, you’re [a] lucky and [b] don’t read enough fan fiction), but those I’ve talked to are taking to him. Either that, or they’re being exceptionally polite. I enjoy writing him. He interacts well with the others, has wit, but also a tragic edge. Sort of like Peter. It seems that most characters worth writing about have tragic edges, don’t they?
Time for a break from Harry Potter fiction, though. I have a Myth Makers submission that needs doing, and work to complete on the Trenchcoat Farewell Project. At least I can now report some progress on the art front, here.
Looking forward to returning to Bronte this Saturday for more coffee and writing.
