Had this thought while talking with my mother before dinner: Terry Pratchet, filmed by Terry Gilliam. Doesn’t that make you smile?
I’ve had requests from Dan Kukwa and Wendy Ewell to update their web pages. Dan’s I’ve done and Wendy’s I’m going to do fairly soon. Perhaps there is a future in web design after all. Of course, a big reason why they’ve asked for my help is because I work for free. I wonder if I could charge for this service and, if so, how much?
I’ve noticed that some bloggers offer readers the opportunity to donate money via PayPal, to help defray server costs, and suchlike. Some actually draw in a fair amount of revenue. That would be nice if I could do that, but then I’d probably have to do the blogging equivalent of standing on my head and juggling in order to merit such attention.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all make a living doing things that we love to do?
But I’m not bitter
Apparently Buffy: the Vampire Slayer has been rated the worst show on television by Parents’ Television Council, a conservative watchdog group.
I’m reminded of the quip by Flying Bob at the Waterloo Buskers’ Carnival as he used a water balloon launcher, rated “most dangerous toy of 1998” by a similar group as he launched mushrooms five stories into the air: “you know something’s good when they want it banned”. Clearly, this endorsement by the PTC is one more excellent reason to watch Buffy, just as the National Citizens Coalition condemnation of the Ernie Eves government is one reason to consider voting Progressive Conservative in the next provincial election.
