Passport. Augh!

I've just learned (or, rather, realized) that my Canadian passport expires eight days from now. The process to get it renewed is complicated. Not only do I have to supply an original birth certificate (which I've only just found), but my papers have to be signed by a guarantor who must be one of a limited group of people (mayors, accountants, veterinarians, lawyers) and who have known me for at least two years. Teachers aren't eligible, or else Dan would be getting a call right now.

I also have to renew my Ontario driver's license and health card. Right now I'm thinking there's entirely too much bureaucracy in the world.

Otherwise, the snowy weekend went well (despite slippery roads). I got another five pages written on The Young City and have started to lay out Ninth Aspect's Sentinel...
