Looks like I'm going to have to drop the coyotes for something else, since it's becoming clear that there were no coyotes in the area in the 1880s. I may go with wolves.
This is ironic given that the representation I originally wanted for nature being pushed out was a bunch of wolves, and I switched to coyotes because I knew that there were no wolves in Toronto anymore, and I was unsure when they were pushed out...
So when did the wolves get pushed out? If it's well before 1884, I'm back to square one.
