This is why I love baseball more than hockey.
The Boston Red Sox played with heart. They were unquestionably the underdog, and they made history. Coming from behind 3-0 against the Yankees to take the American League pennant, they accomplished something done only two other times in professional sport (both of those times in hockey, interestingly enough). So, yeah, I was hooked. It was good to see the curse of the Bambino lifted.
Oh, and my mother-in-law is buying red sox to go with Uncle Shannon’s pinstripes of mourning. :-)
The next curse to go: Cubs in 2008.
