Short note today, as I’m getting ready to hit the road for Ottawa, to attend that city’s launch of The Unwritten Girl. The Ottawa bloggers have opened their arms to me, and I’m looking forward to meeting them and having supper with them afterwards.
It will be a flying visit. Erin wasn’t able to get the afternoon off, and we figured that if we left Kitchener at 4:30, we’d be getting into Ottawa very late, and that wouldn’t be pleasant for Vivian. So Erin and Vivian are staying home and I’m going off alone. That gets me into Ottawa at a reasonable hour, but I’m thinking about heading out after supper so I won’t be long parted from my loved ones.
It seems that in my recent visits, I’ve not been able to give Ottawa its due. It’s always a flying visit. There are so many museums that I want to see, and it’s such a beautiful city, it’s a shame not to give it more time. However, I will have Saturday morning to explore, and I intend to make full use of it. And I’ll say this: one of these days, I’m giving Ottawa a whole week, and I’m bringing Erin and Vivian up with me. And possibly my in-laws. They’re interested in seeing Ottawa as well.
I’m looking forward to seeing Books on Beechwood and meeting the kind folks who have been so welcoming. I’m looking forward to seeing you out there as well. I’ll be away from the Net and e-mail for the rest of today and tomorrow, but I’ll blog all about it on Sunday.
