Under Construction (and a Meme to Tide Us Over)

Why is it that changes in webhost never go as planned?

Ah, well. I ask for your patience as I undergo a webhost switch between 1and1 and GoDaddy. No complaints about 1and1 webhosting, but in the end GoDaddy offered me a much cheaper deal. My (numerous) dealings with GoDaddy’s tech support has not made me regret the move, although the frustrations with learning a new interface and managing domain names has.

If you are reading this on bowjamesbow.ca, then I know that the changeover has worked.

The changeover roached my e-mail for about eighteen hours, so if you tried to send me something during that period and it bounced, please send it again, or drop me a line in the comments.

In the meantime, here’s a meme for you, discovered on Andrew Gurudata’s LiveJournal

Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.

Step 2: Post a line from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.

Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.

Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.

I cut down the number to sixteen. I figure it’s a bit of interactive fun for my readers and, even if nobody writes, I’ll have a piece of found poetry.

So, here goes:

My features form with a change in the weather
We haven — t seen the sun for weeks
The words of my heart lined up like prisoners on a fence
Ready to let go of the steering wheel.

The future is no place, to place your better days
J’aimerais vaiser sur la mer
I said Mama, he’s crazy and he scares me
They cannot see me naked.

Get out of my garden
For six long years I’ve been in trouble
But my sorrows, they learned to swim
For a girl in need of a tourniquet.

Ooh, I just know that something good is gonna happen.
To mash their potatoes and finish my chores
They sent us the Wrongs as a surrogate band
Dear brother, stay, and put me away

I couldn’t find suitable lyrics for three songs (Battayum 2 and Ndongoy Daara of Orchestra Baobab and Alles fuhlt der Libe Freuden), so I substituted others.

Good luck!
