The Real National Scandal

Posted on by

Before I start, I’d like to apologize to Greg Staples. He kindly allowed me to participate in this week’s Bloggers’ Hotstove and I never told you where you could download the episode (that would be here. It was a good piece, too, with a lengthy segment on Net Neutrality, and then a whole lot of Conservative, NDPer and Greenish agreement on decentralization. Greg hardly knew what to do. Jason, I think you were sorely missed.

Anyway, be sure to give it a listen.

So, on to the post. Here’s a conversation Erin and I had recently, with Vivian gurgling in the background.

Erin: Your parents were all het-up on the drive home today.
Me: Really? What about?
Erin: They told us never to eat at Coffee Time. Apparently, they’ve been exposed.
Me: Really? How?
Erin: Hygiene problems.
Me: Ah. You know, I’m not actually surprised.
Erin: Me neither.
Me: Now, if it had been Tim Horton’s, that would have gotten my attention.
Erin: Oh, yeah!
Me: I mean, that would be a real national scandal. That would be the lead story on the National. You’d have people running around in the streets going Aaaah! Aaaah!
Vivian (raises arms) Aaaah! Aaaah!

Nothing to add to that. Though check out this website on the Coffee Time clones that exist all over the place (former franchises, perhaps?).
