Eleanor Grace's First Birthday

Yummm....

On Saturday (the day of the lightning strike), we celebrated little Nora’s first birthday two days early. Here are some photographs of the event.

Vivian gets into the picture as well.

Somewhat got me clothes! Hello?

One of her favourite gifts was the traditional telephone on wheels, given by Dan.

Uncle Dan! It's good cake!

Nora has grown considerably in the last two months. She’s losing some of her baby fat and I’m seeing more of the girl in her face. She is also very, very close to walking; it’s only a matter of time.

It’ll be interesting to see what sort of dynamic appears between her and Vivian, especially once Nora is able to push back. Vivian eats like a bird. We’re frankly worried over how much she leaves behind at mealtimes, but she’s still thriving, her highly-energetic slender self. Nora, on the other hand, packs away the food, especially broccoli, and seems to be setting herself up to be bigger and possibly stronger than her sister. So, while I fully expect Vivian to try to take charge of the situation every time, Nora isn’t going to be forced to follow if she doesn’t want to.

You can see the full birthday set on Flickr here, and while you’re at it, be sure to check out Nora enjoying her new set of wheels here. Our general photostream is here.
