To whom it may concern,

It is with some regret that I am compelled to submit this letter of complaint over your business practises. This is required by the Ministry of Consumer Services to establish a record of complaint against your company for failing to provide expected services. This is to let you know that I am pursuing this matter with the Ministry of Consumer Services and will, if necessary, seek redress through small claims court.

As you know, back in May 2012, I entered into an agreement with Onterra Farms to receive a year’s supply of frozen meat and a freezer. One freezer and half of the meat supply was delivered that month, with the understanding that the other half would follow six months later. In exchange, I paid you in full for the meat, through financing secured through Loan Lendcare obliging me to make 52 payments of $59.88 over the following year.

In November 2012, I made repeated attempts to contact you, by e-mail and phone, to secure the delivery of the remainder of my meat. No calls or e-mails were answered and then your website went dark. I contacted the Better Business Bureau with a complaint, and they made repeated attempts to contact you, with no success. This log is publicly available as BBB Complaint ID#: 1270021.

As I see it, I paid Onterra Farms $3,113.76 for a freezer and a year’s supply of meat, of which I received a freezer and a six month’s supply of meat. As the freezer was quoted to me as being around $900, I feel that I am owed around $1,100, in meat or in a cash refund.

My greatest frustration has not been the money I have lost, but how Onterra Farms went completely silent, with no explanation at all to myself and other customers regarding what happened to the company and what rights we had as customers. If you do manage to find yourself able to respond to this letter, I would be very appreciative of an explanation, as well as a refund of the remainder of what I’m owed.

I look forward somewhat optimistically to your reply.

Sincerely yours,
James Bow
