Every day I count it among life’s great miracles that my daughter reads, and enjoys reading. Whenever I worry that she’s spending too much time in front of the television, or glued to her iPod, I only have to wait a while and see her picking up Catwing by Ursula K. LeGuin, or Little House on the Prairie, or her new set of Cat Warriors chapter books, and I smile and know that Erin and I have at least done something right.
Of course, the book Vivian is reading in this picture is Erin’s Mongoose Diaries, describing her pregnancy and Vivian’s first year of life. We’re less sure of how we feel about that.
