Fall Deepens

The leaves have turned and the weather is definitely getting colder. what I miss the most, though, is the light. It’s still warm enough for the kids to play outside and, when they do, it’s much happier, but the earlier sunset is driving them indoors sooner.

It’s been busy here, especially with Erin working to promote the launch of her latest novel, Sorrow’s Knot. Yesterday was the launch party at Words Worth Books and the open house at our place, and it was a comfortable and intimate gathering. The book was launched with a lot of buzz and excitement, and more work’s to come. Erin and I have the TD Children’s Literature Awards ceremony coming up (it’s the biggest social event on any local children writers’ calendar and not to be missed, especially with it being so close to our anniversary), and promotional events the following Wednesday. Erin’s also working on guest blogs galore. It’s an exciting time, but also an exhausting one.

As for me, other work continues to demand my attention. My big project for my real estate broker client may be settled, but others have taken its place. Items I’ve written recently include:

If you read my column in the Post, yes, I am seriously considering signing up for the NaNoWriMo. Am I crazy? Well, I am hoping that The Night Girl will be done by the end of this month, and I’ll need to set it aside for a while before I get back to revising it. And it would be nice to work on something new for a change, after giving much of my creative time this year to older plots. Still, that doesn’t answer your question, does it? Am I crazy? Ask me in November.
