I used to be a model railroader. I’m not now. I don’t have the skill or, more importantly, the patience to really give the hobby its due and, besides, Transit Toronto now feeds that addiction. But for a fair number of my formative years, I tried building a layout, and I subscribed to Model Railroader magazine. Back in the late 1980s, George Sellios’ Franklin & South Manchester HO scale railroad was recognized as one of the greatest model railroads ever made. Indeed, I suspect he was only precluded from taking the title of greatest model railroader out of respect for the legendary Gorre & Daphetid railroad by John Allen.
As you see from the video above, Sellios has kept working on his railroad. And, personally, I think the title should shift to him. Have a look.
