The Journey Home

I was only in Boston for a day. I came home on Family Day, again finding my own way across the border at Niagara Falls. I didn’t write about it, as I was working on The Sun Runners. Altogether, I’d call it a successful trip, spending time writing and sightseeing in a city with very interesting rail and transit operations.

The return home was on the Maple Leaf, which follows the Hudson Valley all the way to Albany. The run is, to my mind, one of the most scenic rail journeys in North America east of the Rocky Mountains. Only the Adirondack fares better, because it adds the shores of Lake Champlain to the journey.

For this trip, I taped my iPhone camera to the window, and hit record…
